Little Celebrations: Rainbow Party

Happy St Patricks Day!!!! Although St Pattys is mostly known for leprechauns and shamrocks, my favorite little symbol is the rainbow. Not only are they lucky, and said to hold riches of gold on their end, but they are probably one of the most gorgeous natural phenomenons to gaze upon.

Rainbow parties are becoming increasingly more possible these days so I thought it would be fun to create a little inspiration board for those of you contemplating throwing a rainbow themed shindig. This theme would work for a birthday party, a St Pattys day party, or just a fun Saturday night (I mean I'll take any reason for a little celebration!)

For this party I would try to include clean white details (which represent clouds) against the classic rainbow colors to create a dreamy color combination. Pairing these beautiful and bright rainbow colors against the white will also really make them pop. For example, for the cake I choose a simple buttercream cake with a touch of rainbow sprinkles adjourned with the sweetest candy rainbow on top. When you cut into the cake, that's when the magic happens and this bright rainbow comes out to shine.

For decor I always love a nice tassel backdrop, and this Pastel Rainbow Tassel garland from Studio Mucci is as gorgeous as they come. Other little rainbow touches to add to your party include striped rainbow treat bags (which you could fill with Lucky Charms), lollipop favors covered in these adorable rainbow paper covers, and a simple thank you tag like this rainbow bunting tag from PrintSmitten.

No party is complete without the perfect party outfit and I have a sweet little pairing from who other than Mini Boden. One thing, I have noticed from most party outfits is that they are never worn again. This shooting star tee fits perfectly with the theme, but also can be paired with jean shorts for a casual play day around the house. As for the party tutu, this classic pink can be dressed down with a denim button down, or a cool unisex tee and sneakers. (Stella owns this one, and I'm telling you it's completely #swoonworthy). Of course no outfit is complete without the perfect hair piece, and this (rainbow sprinkles) tie back from Birdie Baby Boutique is my favorite little rainBOW. It also comes in adult, so you and your little could match at the party.
